About Dubai South

Previously known as Dubai World Central (DWC), Dubai South is a mega project. It is a massive planned city spanning over 145 square kilometers with various districts and projects like the Dubai South Free Zone and the Al Maktoum International Airport which is set to become the biggest airport in the world upon its completion.
Dubai South is part of the Dubai Vision 2021 and 2030 and the construction of this planned city started in 2006. Subsections of the mega project are divided into various districts that include the Residential District, Logistics District, Commercial District, Industrial District, Aviation District, Enterprise Park, Staff Village, and Golf City.
Many of the districts like the Business Park, Aviation District, and Logistics District are already complete and operational, including parts of Al Maktoum International Airport and the Dubai South Free Zone, while other districts like the Golf City and additional residential complexes are still under construction.
